Standard Nuclear makes specialized nuclear fuel called TRISO fuel, which is designed for a new generation of smaller nuclear reactors called SMRs (small modular reactors) and microreactors. The company sells its fuel to companies building these advanced reactors and to federal agencies testing experimental reactor designs. Standard Nuclear was founded in 2024 and is based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
