Friedman Industries manufactures steel products in two main categories. In their flat-roll business, they process hot-rolled steel coils into sheets and plates, and store customer coils for a fee. In their tubular business, they make steel pipes used in oil and gas drilling, as well as structural pipes for buildings and other construction. They sell their products to metal distributors and manufacturers who use steel to make things like metal buildings, railcars, heavy equipment, and tanks.
