Woodward makes mechanical and electronic control parts for airplane engines and industrial turbines. In aviation, they supply fuel pumps, valves, and actuators (parts that move or control systems) that help engines run properly, plus they service and repair these parts for airlines and the military. For industrial customers, they make similar control equipment for power plants and other large machinery that generates electricity or compresses gas.
