Petrobras is Brazil's state-controlled oil and gas company. It drills for and produces crude oil and natural gas both onshore and offshore, then refines the oil into products like gasoline and diesel fuel for sale in Brazil and around the world. The company also operates in natural gas trading, electricity generation from power plants, and renewable energy like biodiesel. Petrobras was founded in 1953 and is based in Rio de Janeiro.
