Nexa Resources S.A.

Nexa Resources digs up and processes zinc and other metals from mines in Peru and Brazil. The company extracts zinc ore from the ground at five mines, then melts and refines it at smelting facilities to produce metallic zinc and zamac (a zinc alloy). As a byproduct of this work, they also produce sulfuric acid, silver, copper, and lead. Zinc is used in construction, automotive, and galvanizing applications where metal needs protection from rust.
