Marathon Petroleum refines crude oil into gasoline, diesel, and other fuels at refineries across the United States, then sells these products to gas stations, wholesalers, and other customers. The company operates gas stations under the ARCO brand and also owns pipelines and storage terminals that transport and distribute crude oil and refined products. Marathon also makes renewable diesel from plant-based materials and manufactures propane and petrochemicals as byproducts of its refining operations.
