LivaNova makes medical devices used during heart surgery and to treat brain disorders. Their cardiopulmonary products include heart-lung machines and related equipment that doctors use to support patients during open-heart surgery. They also make the VNS Therapy System, an implantable device that stimulates the vagus nerve in the brain to treat epilepsy and depression in patients whose conditions do not respond to medication.
