Federal Signal makes two kinds of specialized equipment. Through its Environmental Solutions Group, it manufactures street sweepers, sewer cleaning trucks, and other vehicles that cities and contractors use to maintain roads and underground utilities. Through its Safety and Security Systems Group, it makes sirens, warning lights, public address systems, and communication equipment for emergency responders and industrial facilities. The company sells these products under various brand names including ELGIN, VACTOR, and Federal Signal, and also sells parts and rental services to its customers.
