Comstock Resources is an independent oil and gas company that explores for and produces natural gas and oil from properties it owns in Louisiana and Texas. The company holds rights to drill on about 1.07 million acres, mostly in an area called the Haynesville Shale where natural gas is extracted from underground rock formations. It was founded in 1919 and is based in Frisco, Texas.
