Codexis makes enzymes, which are biological molecules that speed up chemical reactions, for use in manufacturing medicines and drugs. The company uses a technology called CodeEvolver to discover and improve these enzymes so they work better for drug makers. They also developed a manufacturing platform called ECO Synthesis that helps companies produce certain types of RNA-based medicines more efficiently. Codexis has partnerships with pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer to apply its enzyme technology to drug production.
