Baytex Energy finds and pumps oil and natural gas from underground fields in western Canada. The company extracts light oil, heavy oil, natural gas liquids (the liquid forms of gas), and natural gas. Baytex owns significant oil and gas properties in Alberta and Saskatchewan, including areas called Duvernay, Peace River, and Lloydminster that it has been developing since 1993.
