Aehr Test Systems makes equipment that semiconductor manufacturers use to test computer chips before selling them. The company's machines, called FOX systems, test chips at different stages of production: while they are still on the wafer, after they have been cut into individual pieces, or after they have been packaged. These systems check whether chips work properly and stress-test them to make sure they are reliable. Aehr sells its equipment to chip makers and testing service companies around the world and also provides installation, repair, and training services.
