Adamas Trust buys and manages mortgages and mortgage-related investments, mostly in residential housing. They invest in bundles of residential mortgages (known as mortgage-backed securities), individual residential loans of various types, multifamily apartment building loans, and single-family rental properties. The company also lends money to real estate investors for rental and transitional projects through their business purpose loan division. As a mortgage trust, they are required to distribute most of their taxable income to shareholders rather than pay it in corporate taxes.
